Abstract Traditional laminated composites have fibres oriented only in the in-plane of laminate due to their manufacturing process, and are therefore very susceptible transverse cracking delamination from out-of-plane actions. Delamination can considerably reduce load bearing capacity a structure hence several reinforcement solutions, based on principle add 2D fabric, been explored enhance resistance. However, usual textile technologies for Z-reinforcement such as weaving, knitting, stitching, z-pinning, tufting generates perturbations that may alter mechanical properties. Although is single needle thread one side stitching (OSS) technique which incorporate almost tension free through thickness material, various types microstructural defects be created during process lead degradation properties composite. Moreover, awareness environmental concerns, development use eco-friendly biocomposites replace synthetic ones has increasing.
